Materials & Techniques

Figure parts (arms, head/chest plate, and body) are sculpted with epoxy clay over a wire and Styrofoam armature. Bird legs are cast pewter and mounted to the base with brass tubes. Each piece is sanded, primed, painted, and varnished before adding feathers and fabric.
