The robe is lined
with black satin and has a back opening to access the brass levers
to operate
the puppet.
The white long sleeved shirt
has a mandarin collar; the robe
is accessorized with an antique silver metallic
cord belt and
black buttons.
The wood armature is mounted to a support pole
with a hand
made brass
lever mechanism
which controls
the head movements -- forward/back
and side-to-side.
The hand
gestures move independently
using the rods which, combined with the head movements, create expressive gestures giving "Rod Q. Puppet"
a life-like quality.
