hands, glass eyes; hair is black horsehair.
He wears a white shirt with black and gold
vest, beige pants, black satin shoes and
sits on a large ottoman.

The arms and legs are non-mechanized,
positionable wood and wire armatures.

The reading material is permanently attached
but choice of reading material can vary.

The programmable automaton mechanism,
designed and machined by the artist,
is controlled by 3 micro controllers and
3 servo motors which operate the head
movements creating the impression the
figure is reading the material in hand.

The Reader automaton is powered by
electricity with an On/Off switch and can be
plugged into a standard electrical outlet.
