The automata mechanisms, designed
and machined by the artist, consist of an
internal crankshaft, which enables the
Automaton Monkey figure to operate
at varied speed, in forward or reverse.

The brass hand-crank mechanism operates a counterbalanced armature, creating a rhythmic side-to-side motion with alternating leg kicks,
making JoJo a very happy Monkey. 

"JoJo" Monkey, is a Limited Edition
of 10, hand-crank Automaton.
The seated Monkey figure has hand painted
Resin head, hands, and monkey feet, and
painted eyes. Body fur is mahogany colored, vintage finish English mohair fabric. He wears
a red and black Bellboy outfit with black
and gold trim. The Bellboy jacket and hat
are accented with brass buttons.
